WOMEN BELONG IN ALL PLACES WHERE DECISIONS ARE BEING MADE. – RBG

Iffy and Kay at Table
Know that the life you’re living now can secure your family’s future for generations to come.

That’s where we come in.

We give our fellow women the tools they need to deeply consider and formalize decisions for their lifetime and to avoid leaving behind a mess for others to clean up in the future.

We use our legal know-how to guide your choices so you can finally cross estate planning off your list! With a few simple meetings, you will leave relieved and comforted (at least about this), knowing you took the time to provide your best for yourself and your loved ones!

HERE’S SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

64% OF MEN ARE IN A RELATIONSHIP WITHIN 25 MONTHS OF LOSING A SPOUSE. MAKE SURE YOUR KIDS AREN’T LOST IN THE SHUFFLE OF NEW LOVE.

WHEN STATISTICS SAY THAT 60% OF WOMEN DON’T HAVE WILLS, IT’S NOT BECAUSE THEY’RE NEGLIGENT.

Historically, as women, we were not given the autonomy to make decisions that significantly affect our lives, bodies, and wealth. Today, we invest, buy real estate, run companies, raise children, start our businesses, support causes, manage households, and advocate for health decisions. Men have driven the bus for too long; now, we’re taking the wheel for decisions that affect us! Establishing an estate plan is the next natural step for a woman coming into full agency in decision-making.

what would it feel like to…

Z

Know that your children can travel overseas rather than take a desk job after college?

Z

Set your loved ones up financially and make things easier for the next generation, rather than leave a legacy of family members fighting, stealing, and estrangement?

Z

Know that you will make critical health and emergency decisions according to your specifications?

Iffy Family

HERE’S WHY WE DO THIS WORK!

i created ibekwe law, pllc when i realized that so many intentional women desired a down-to-earth and knowledgeable lawyer (like me!) to set up a will, trust, or other legal documents and create an impactful legacy.

These remarkable women would try to find answers on Google or ask for feedback in Facebook Mom Groups, usually a terrible place to get advice about most things. It’s not that they are trying to be reckless with their decisions, it that they haven’t been taught where to go. Intentional women are not comfortable putting their livelihoods in the hands of a $99 will bot or a free will template they find on the Internet.

If you are one of these women, I want to give you a solution to this common problem. Here’s how estate planning has positively impacted my own life.

My father died without a will in 2004, and I saw my mom have to go through the grief of his loss while tying up loose ends of his life in court and at a considerable financial expense.

MY MOM WAS THE CATALYST FOR CHANGE IN THE TRAJECTORY OF OUR FAMILY.

I followed her lead by setting up my first estate plan after my first child was born. It was one of the most empowering decisions I’ve made as a woman. I purposely started my own practice to assist other women who want to experience peace and secure their families.

WILLS AND TRUSTS AREN’T JUST FOR CHAD.

Estate planning is no longer just for the wealthy or people with a ton of assets. In truth, estate planning is for everyone, from single people with debt to married couples with no kids to families with tons of kids and many properties (picture Chip and Jo Jo Gaines from Fixer Upper). Everyone from millennials to seasoned adults deserves a say in their future.

Getting a Texas or Arkansas will and other important estate planning documents can be straightforward. (And yes, this includes if you’re living somewhere else, too! As long as you’re domiciled in either state, we are the team for you.) At Ibekwe Law, PLLC, we offer a flat-fee package of legal services for singles and couples who want to start with securing their legacies.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE THE EXPERT

That’s what we’re here for! So you can go ahead and say goodbye to your Google degree and LegalZoom nightmares. You wouldn’t want to DIY your own root canal. There’s no reason why you should have to DIY your legal documents.

Let the professionals (us) help you to get it done easily and completely with actual legal knowledge and skills to back it up.

MEL’S WILL EXPERIENCE

Wow! I am so grateful to have met Iffy this year. Having our (will) done was on top of our 2019 to do list. A friend referred us to her and I’m so glad! Iffy is so professional but FUN! That is exactly what you need in a lawyer when doing your will. She’s extremely helpful and knowledgeable and extremely open minded!

OUR COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OPTIONS INCLUDE:

Last Will and Testament

Often mistaken for a “living will,” this is the actual “will” people talk about when they mention wanting one. In creating it, we’re handing you the ruling scepter and the crown. Go ahead and declare all the rules and guidelines that you’ve been dreaming about when it comes to deciding how to pass on every single solitary thing that belongs to you.

Financial Power of Attorney

Name the person you trust to take your hard-earned money and put it to use in a way that fits your values and dreams.

Medical Power of Attorney

Declare the person you trust to take care of any healthcare-related decisions based on your personal preferences and values.

HIPAA Waiver

You know all of the people in your life who you trust with all the sensitive things, like medical information. Let’s go ahead and make it easy for those key people to access it so they don’t have to fight tooth and nail for the information you’d be handing them anyway.

Advance Healthcare Directive (Living Will)

This “living will” informs health providers and loved ones about what kinds of treatment you’re completely comfortable with and the kind where you draw the line. Make that line visible by spelling it out for no one to cross.

Pre-Need Guardian of Person and Estate

If you are ever incapacitated, you can nominate who will be responsible for your care and finances. You can also say who should not participate in your care under any circumstances!

Nomination of Guardian for Minor (if relevant)

Don’t leave the care of your children up to chance if one of life’s “what ifs” happens. Your kids will benefit from knowing that a person you hand-selected and trust will handle their care and any finances you leave to them.

Celebration of Life Instructions (Final Disposition)

Think of this as the most extraordinary party you’ll ever throw! You get to decide the who, what, when, where, and whys that take place, so no one else has to plan on your behalf and you get exactly what you envision for yourself.

Testamentary Trusts for Minors

Within your will, you can plan how a minor child can receive the assets you’ve worked so hard to earn. We can plan for a child’s healthcare, education, maintenance, and support! Remember, you get to decide!

Revocable Living Trust

Claim your power in deciding where your assets go and keep that power indefinitely. With a revocable living trust, you can make the changes as you see fit.

Special Needs Trust

Ensure that your loved ones with special needs will always have the assistance and care they need to thrive within their talents. Their unique abilities can and will shine through the legacy you provide for them.

Pet Planning

We don’t call them our fur babies for nothing! Rover and Mittens are family, too. Let’s create a future for them where they will always have their monthly spa treatment and the right brand of treats that make them feel loved.

Charitable Giving

Whatever your passions are, we can ensure that your hard-earned monetary assets get put to good use in supporting them! Let your impact include the causes you know are positively impacting the world.

Other Estate Planning Considerations

We plan for your future and everything in it according to what you want, when you want it, and with whom you want. We customize your plan and handle every consideration correctly, so you never have to worry about leaving anything hanging. We cover all your bases!

BEFORE YOU CREATE YOUR ESTATE PLAN, HERE ARE SOME QUESTIONS ANSWERED

I DON’T HAVE AN ESTATE, ONLY DEBT. WHY SHOULD I CREATE AN ESTATE PLAN?

Yes. Many people hear “estate” and think of mansions and Oprah-level wealth. You certainly don’t have to be in the 1% to establish an estate plan–anyone who wants to preserve her choices in health and financial decision-making benefits from a legal strategy. By setting up essential legal documents, your key people will have much-needed guidance on how best to help you.

Other means exist for passing on significant sums of wealth. For example, life insurance can provide an immediate income source to loved ones. Your beneficiaries can use it to pay off taxes or other debts, like a house note or college tuition. You’d be surprised at what you’re already sitting on. Let us show you!

WHAT IF I’M A SINGLE WOMAN WITHOUT ANY KIDS TO PASS ANYTHING TO?

Then you are in the most empowering position possible! You can go live overseas, be an artist one day, and a business owner the next. You get to choose who your life includes and how those people can show up for you. You are building a legacy unlike any other as we speak! Passing that on doesn’t have to mean passing it to children or a spouse. It can mean giving power to the causes you care about

DO I HAVE TO LIVE IN TEXAS OR ARKANSAS TO WORK WITH YOU?

Not necessarily. We have plenty of amazing clients who are living the high life in other countries and states. However, we do require that you are domiciled (or have property) in either the states of Texas or Arkansas since that’s where we are licensed.

I NOTICED YOUR PAGE SPEAKS TO WOMEN. DO YOU WORK WITH MEN?

Absolutely! We work with all people because we are an inclusive law firm. If it sounds like we’re speaking more toward women, it’s because we have historically been excluded from decisions that affect our lives. We are doing our part to ensure the power is in the woman’s hands for her own life!

IS THIS PROCESS COMPLICATED?

Not with us! Typically, our profession has failed to provide accessibility and equity to wills and other estate planning documents. But that norm is being disrupted by lawyers like us who will walk you through the process of estate planning and show you the best options for your family. We can help you get a plan to address emergencies and help you build generational wealth.

You deserve easy.

HOW MUCH DOES ALL OF THIS COST, ANYWAY?

“One-size-fits-all” estate plans do not exist. At the initial consultation, we discuss your unique circumstances and requirements and provide you with a flat fee quote for our services. This means that you will pay what you expect and don’t have to worry about being nickel and dimed along the way! Remember, this is an investment in your future. Customized plans that protect all that matters to you start in the low $1000s.

A WORD ABOUT OUR FLAT FEE PRICING

At Ibekwe Law, PLLC, we base our prices on the level of value and customized service we provide to you, not an arbitrary number of hours. Our firm is not a document mill, and we don’t maintain a high-volume practice. We take the time to get to know you, your family, your goals, and your concerns.

We use flat fees known and agreed to in advance, so you are not ever surprised. We design plans to save you and your family exponentially more money and heartache than the plan’s cost. Most importantly, we want you to trust that your investment is worth every.single.solitary.penny. And so much more! Please don’t tell us about the lawyer who will create an estate plan for $999. We are NOT that firm. We are different, intentionally.

Did we leave anything out? No problem. We’re happy to answer any remaining questions you may have. Don’t hesitate to book a consultation.

YOUR IMPACTFUL LEGACY IS just a click away. let’s make it your reality!
